President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has conferred the President's Badge, the highest honour awarded to Girl Guides, to Fathimath Yumna Atif.
The ceremony held at the President's Office was attended by Chief Guide and First Lady Fazna Ahmed, President of the Girl Guide Association and Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali, and Chief Commissioner of the Girl Guide Association Niumaath Shafeeg.
At the ceremony, President Solih congratulated Yumna on receiving the honour and admired her contributions as a member of the Girl Guide movement. He also described the movement as a crucial activity for students. He highlighted that it was the first time a girl guide representing a school outside of Male’ City received the honour and described it as a remarkable achievement for Baa Atoll Education Centre.
Yumna is the 14th student to receive the badge since its introduction in 1998.
