Maldives and Dominican Republic discuss promoting tourism

The Maldives and the Dominican Republic have discussed promoting sustainable tourism. The discussion was held after Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the Maldives David Emmanuel Puig Buchel presented his letter of credence to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

During the meeting, President Solih congratulated Ambassador Buchel on his appointment and emphasised that the Maldives and the Dominican Republic have maintained 12 years of stable diplomatic relations. The president and the ambassador discussed various topics of mutual interest, including promoting sustainable tourism, environmental cooperation, and building disaster resilience.

Before concluding the meeting, President Solih and Ambassador Buchel reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries in areas of mutual interest and working alongside each other on the multilateral front.
