Ali Faiz nominated as High Commissioner to Sri Lanka

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has nominated Ali Faiz as the High Commissioner of the Maldives to Sri Lanka.

President Solih requested the Parliament of the Maldives to approve Faiz as the High Commissioner to Sri Lanka to replace Omar Abdul Razzak, who was appointed as the Ambassador to Belgium and the Mission to the European Union (EU). The nomination of Faiz will be sent to the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations for review.

Ali Faiz is the President of the Police Board established under the Police Service Act in 2021. He previously served as the Managing Director of the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO) and the Chief of Protocol at the President’s Office during President Mohamed Nasheed’s administration.
