Managing Director of State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) Ahmed Shareef has joined the main ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
The senior leadership joined the ceremony to welcome Shareef into MDP, including President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Parliamentary Group (PG) Leader Mohamed Aslam, and Chairperson Ahmed Abdulla.
Prior to his appointment to the ECM, Shareef served as President of the Elections Commission of the Maldives (ECM) and the Deputy Minister of Education. He was elected to the Parliament in 2013 and was appointed as the Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation Limited in 2016.
