The security forces of the Maldives have arrested 13 individuals in an anti-terrorism operation.
The operation is being conducted in collaboration with the Maldives Police Service (MPS) and the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF). The operation is being conducted in Addu City and the Greater Male' Region. MPS stated that the 13 people arrested include nine from Addu, two from Male' and two from Guraidoo in Kaafu Atoll. All of the arrested were Maldivian men, according to the security forces.
MPS stated that the operation is still ongoing and details will be released soon.
