Maldives committed to enhance bilateral relations with renewed focus

The Maldives has expressed commitment to work closely with the Laos Government with a renewed focus on enhancing the bilateral relationship, and also focusing on the areas of promoting tourism, trade, and other areas of mutual interest. The statement was made by the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Maldives to Laos Mohamed Jinah during the ceremony held to present his Letter of Credence to President Thongloun Sisoulith.

During the brief courtesy call held at the Presidential Palace Vientiane following the Credentials Ceremony, Ambassador Jinah expressed his gratitude for being given the honour to present his Letter of Credence and serve as the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Maldives to Laos. Ambassador Jinah also conveyed greetings from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of the Maldives to the President and People of Laos.

Meanwhile, President Sisoulith congratulated Ambassador Jinah on the assumption of his duties as Non-Resident Ambassador of the Maldives to Laos and expressed hope to work closely with the Maldives in further strengthening the bilateral relations and increase people to people to contact between the two countries.

During his visit to Laos, Ambassador Jinah also paid courtesy calls on a number of senior dignitaries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs including Phoxay Khaykhamphithoune, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs to discuss further exploring opportunities and enhancing the cooperation between the two countries.
