Foreign Minister departs on official visit to the UK

Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has departed to the United Kingdom (UK) on an official visit from October 29 to November 4.

During the visit, Minister Shahid is scheduled to meet with the new leadership of the UK including the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development James Cleverly, and continue discussions on enhancing the longstanding relations between the two countries. He is also scheduled to meet with the Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict and Minister of State for the Middle East, South Asia, and the United Nations Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, Minister for Asia, Energy, Climate and Environment Lord Goldsmith and members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords of the UK.

Minister Shahid will also be delivering a speech at the Oxford Union Society on the topic The future of multilateralism.
