Dhigurah youth centre to be completed within five months

Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Development has contracted Two A Company Private Limited to build a youth and community centre in Dhigurah, Alifu Dhaalu Atoll.

The agreement to was signed by Senior Executive Director of the Youth Ministry Ahmed Thalal Mohamed and Sales and Operations Manager at Two A Company Mohamed Ayman Ahmed. The construction of the centre in Dhiguarh is to be completed within five months at a cost of USD320,000. The centre can be used for various social purposes on the island such as accommodation for sports facilities and public meetings.

The youth ministry has also awarded the contracts for the construction of a handball court in Makunudhoo, Haa Dhaalu Atoll, and the sub-base of a football stadium in Utheemu, Haa Alifu Atoll. As such, the construction of the handball court in Makunudhoo was contracted to Silver Marine Private Limited and is to be completed within 48 days at a cost of USD92,000. The construction of the sub-base in the football stadium in Utheemu was contracted to RKL Group Private limited and is to be completed within two months at a cost of USD150.000.

The government has conducted more than 500 projects on different islands during the current presidential term, according to Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Development Ahmed Mahloof.
