Parliament approves Shaheeb’s appointment as Ambassador to three countries

Parliament of the Maldives has approved High commissioner to India Ibrahim Shaheeb’s appointment as Non-resident Ambassador to three other countries with 46 votes in favour.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih requested the Parliament to approve Shaheeb as the Non-resident Ambassador to Bhutan, Nepal, and Azerbaijan. The request was evaluated by the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations.

High Commissioner Shaheeb completed a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore. Earlier, he served as the Chief of Protocol, and Additional Secretary, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
