Education ministry hires contractors for school development projects

The Ministry of Education has hired contractors to complete some work for the projects to develop schools on two islands.

The education ministry hired North Coast Contractors Private Limited to construct four classrooms and a laboratory at Kunahandhoo School. The agreement was signed by Senior Policy Director at the Planning Ministry Moosa Naeem and Director of North Coast Contractors Ali Ghiyan. The company has been tasked with completing the work within one year at a cost of USD683,000.

Meanwhile, the ministry hired Evosun Maldives Private Limited to construct a multi-purpose hall at Lhaviyani Atoll Madharusa. The agreement was signed by Senior Policy Director Naushad Ibrahim and Director of Evosun Maldives Hussain Waheed. Evosun Maldives is tasked with completing the work within one year at a cost of USD904,000.

The school development projects are included in the public sector investment programme (PSIP) budget for 2021.
