ACC prepares to hold Maldives Anti-Corruption Conference

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to hold Maldives Anti-Corruption Conference on October 30-31 at Bandos Maldives.

ACC said the conference is planned to be held every two years. The conference is mainly dedicated to state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and will be held in partnership with Transparency Maldives. ACC said discussions during the conference will focus on the challenges faced by SOEs due to corruption and how to overcome them, adding the conference will also discuss measures to strengthen the management system of government companies.

The theme of Maldives Anti-Corruption Conference 2022 is Integrity of State-Owned Enterprises. ACC said the main objective of the conference is to bring together SOEs and various institutions related to such companies to discuss issues in the management structure of SOEs and challenges in implementing laws and regulations related to such companies.

The conference will discuss ways to eliminate corruption risks in SOEs through good governance, curb the culture of information secrecy, plan corporate governance in a robust and transparent manner and establish accountability mechanisms.
