HPA warns against the use of Allersine eye drops

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has warned the public against the use of Allersine eye drops.

HPA stated that the Malaysian National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) has informed of defects in some of the batches of the Allersine eye drops manufactured by Duopharma Biotech. The defect was found in three batches, namely batch numbers 193033, 200827, and 200230.

HPA said Allersine eye drops are on the list of medicines that are allowed to be imported and sold in the Maldives and that two of the three defective batches have been found in the country. Therefore, the medicine is now being recalled from the market in collaboration with the registered seller.

The HPA said ports across the country will be paying special attention when importing medicines as a precautionary measure.
