Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has concluded the third batch of the Basic Air Traffic Controllers training course.
MACL revealed that nine air traffic controllers were trained in the eight-week course designed and delivered in accordance with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). The training course was conducted from August 21 to October 13.
The main objective of the training is to provide theoretical knowledge to new recruits of Air Traffic Services and to prepare them for Air Traffic Control (ATC) rating. MACL added the course was conducted by ATC-trained professionals. The individuals who completed the course will work at the Maldives Air Traffic Control Tower at Velana International Airport (VIA) and other regional airports. MACL manages the ATC towers of all regional airports in the Maldives.
MACL regularly conducts training and skills development programmes to enhance the capacity and knowledge of ATC officers.
