Judge Mahir to be appointed as Family Court Chief Judge

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has decided to appoint Judge Ibrahim Mahir as the Chief Judge of the Family Court of the Maldives. JSC stated that he was chosen after the advisory committee for the appointment of judges had conducted interviews with all applicants.

Judge Mahir has been serving at the Family Court for 12 years. He served at the Civil Court after taking his oath in 2005 and began serving at the Family Court in 2010.

Judge Mahir was appointed as the acting Chief Judge of the Family Court in June after then Chief Judge Huzaifa Mohamed was appointed to the High Court.
