First Lady meets Fuvahmulah City’s social group IBAMA

First Lady Fazna Ahmed has met with the community social group IBAMA during her visit to Fuvahmulah City.

Speaking at the meeting, the First Lady noted that IBAMA had given her hope and that she was grateful to see that many issues that could not previously be accomplished by individual authorities were now being accomplished through the collective effort of the institutions.

During the meeting, members of IBAMA briefed the First Lady on their activities in Fuvamulah City and shared the challenges they faced in carrying out their work. They also highlighted the support they received from IBAMA's related institutions in the city. They also noted that establishing such an organisation reduced the obstacles to resolving societal issues and that they now have clear directives and the capacity to find speedy solutions through collaboration.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Gender, Family and Social Services Aishath Mohamed Didi, and several officials in the ministry. The meeting was also attended by some members of the Fuvahmulah Women's Development Committee (WDC).

IBAMA is responsible for identifying and providing social security and assistance to those in need, ensuring social security, and working with all stakeholders to build a healthy community. The specialised teams carry out these responsibilities in islands and cities, excluding Malé City.
