Appointment of PCB vice president sent for committee approval

The Parliamentary State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Committee has begun reviewing the motion submitted to appoint Mohamed Firaz as the Vice President of the Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB).

PCB was established under the Law of Privatisation, Corporatisation, Monitoring, and Evaluation of Government Businesses. The PCB is tasked to carry out privatisation, corporatisation, monitoring, evaluation, and selling of public shares from government companies, government shareholding companies, and commercial government business enterprises, and all procedures relating to such activities.

PCB consists of seven-members filling a four-year term.
