Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to provide mutual assistance, exchange assistance, and collaborate in areas of mutual interest.
The agreement was signed by the President of ACC Adam Shamil and Prosecutor General Hussain Shameem. As per the agreement, the two institutions will collaborate on cases related to corruption, and the PGO will provide detailed information on its procedure for cases submitted by ACC in order to fast-track cases while maintaining standards.
ACC and PGO already collaborate on investigations related to corruption. As such, the PGO has been giving recommendations and instructions to the ACC as part of the long-term efforts to stop corruption.
