The Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Higher Education have held discussions to train Maldivians for senior positions in resorts. The discussions were held at a meeting between Minister of Higher Education Ibrahim Hassan and Minister of Tourism Abdulla Mausoom.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister Hassan discussed the areas needed to train Maldivians working in the tourism sector. He said the ministry is already conducting various courses to build individuals in the sector. However, he noted the need to train individuals in resort management and asked for the cooperation of the tourism ministry.
At the meeting, Minister Mausoom expressed gratitude to the higher education ministry for taking the initiative to train Maldivians to take up positions at the senior management level in resorts. He said he was ready to work with the ministry after identifying the areas needed for resort management training.
