Gov’t says Beyond Airlines will support tourism growth

Minister of Tourism Dr. Abdulla Mausoom has stated the new Maldives-based Beyond Airlines will support tourism growth. He made the remarks during a meeting with the founders and management team of the airline Max Nilov, Tero Taskila, and Sascha Feuerherd as well as members of SIMDI Company Private Limited.

During the meeting, Minister Mausoom praised Beyond Airlines as a further boost to the growth of tourism in the Maldives by connecting the destination to other countries. He also noted the venture will create more jobs and allow Maldivian businesses and private parties to establish direct connections to locations in Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa.

Also at the meeting, the Chairman of Arabesque Taskila highlighted the Maldives is one of the top travel destinations in the world and he is pleased to establish an airline for the country. He added the flight destinations will be announced soon.

SIMDI Company and the United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based investment firm Arabesque formed Beyond Operations Private Limited for the purpose of launching the world's first luxury airline for leisure travel, Beyond Airlines. Although a timeline for the start of operations has not yet been finalised, SIMDI Company stated Beyond Airlines will be looking to grow to up to 60 nonstop destinations around the world.
