Maldives and Bahrain reaffirm commitment to enhance collaboration

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has reaffirmed the commitment of the Maldives to enhance collaborative efforts with Bahrain. He made the statement during a meeting with Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and the Prime Minister of Bahrain.

During the meeting held as part of his ongoing state visit to Bahrain, President Solih and Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad spoke extensively on a wide range of topics, including strengthening bilateral relations and development cooperation between the two countries. They discussed youth and sports, international cooperation, trade and investment, and the environment, specifically the topic of restoring reef systems, and emphasised the commitment to enhancing collaborative efforts.

Furthermore, President Solih expressed gratitude to the Government of Bahrain for the generous support provided to the Maldives throughout the years. Before concluding the meeting, the president and the crown prince reaffirmed their shared commitment to work toward strengthening the relationship between the two countries.

It is the first time a Maldivian president is making a state visit to Bahrain.
