Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has completed the revetment construction as part of the Coastal Protection Project in Kendhoo, Baa Atoll.
MTCC said Kendhoo Coastal Protection Project is well underway, with an overall 60% of the project completed. MTCC added revetment construction has been completed and the final shipment of rock boulders required has been delivered to the site.
The Kendhoo Coastal Protection Project started on June 10, this year. The project was contracted to MTCC at a price of USD2.6 million. The project involves the construction of an 803m breakwater, 80m revetment, and 90m groynes. The project also involves the development of a swimming area. MTCC commenced the project from the west side of the island and now has progressed to the northeast harbour.
President of Kendhoo Island Council Ibrahim Abdul Rahman said the project is expected to be completed by the end of the month considering the speed.
