Minister of Tourism Abdulla Mausoom has said the tourism industry of the Maldives is growing as a result of continuous discussions with President Ibrahim Mohamed on tourism-related issues. He made the remarks while speaking at the ceremony held to commemorate the first National Tourism Day.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Mausoom said the world is now talking about the brave decision made by President Solih to open the borders of the Maldives following the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. He said tourism in the Maldives has progressed in the past few years after talks with the tourism industry and health workers, adding that he would like to thank President Solih for his decisions and guidance.
Furthermore, Minister Mausoom thanked all those working in the tourism industry for their hard work. He said that tourism in the Maldives is shaping up so that everyone can do this work with their families living on the islands.
