The Maldives has assured of the commitment to foster closer collaboration with Belgium. The remarks were made by the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Maldives to Belgium Omar Abdul Razzak after he presented his Letters of Credence to King Philippe of Belgium. The ceremony took place at the Palais-Royal in Brussels.
During the private audience following the ceremony, King Philippe welcomed Ambassador Omar and congratulated him on the assumption of his duties as Ambassador of the Maldives to Belgium. Ambassador Omar expressed appreciation for the friendly welcome and conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of the Maldives.
Furthermore, Ambassador Omar assured King Philippe of his commitment to work closely with the Government of Belgium to further strengthen the bilateral relations and foster closer collaboration between the two countries on areas of common interest, such as promoting tourism, trade, and people-to-people contact.
