Vice President Faisal Naseem has said Maldivian students participating in prestigious Holy Quran competitions is an honour and brings goodwill to the nation. He made the statement during a meeting with the Maldivian students who competed in the King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Holy Quran held in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was held at the President's Office. The parents of the students were also present at the meeting along with Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir and Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali. The Maldivian students who participated in the competition were Ahmed Nabeeh Abdul Qadir and Mohamed Youshau. As such, Nabeeh advanced to the finals of the competition.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice President Naseem praised and applauded the students and their parents for their tireless efforts, especially noting Nabeeh’s success in the competition. He said the administration works hard to instill fondness and respect for the Holy Quran in children's hearts, and that it is working to find more opportunities for students in the field of Holy Quran.
The parents who attended the meeting thanked the administration for the assistance and support given to their children.
