Naivaadhoo community pleased with developmental initiatives

Naivaadhoo Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) have thanked President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih for the developmental initiatives on the island. President Solih met with the members of the island council and WDC after arriving in Naivaadhoo, Haa Dhaalu Atoll.

Discussions at the meeting focused on beach erosion, upgrading the council secretariat, developing a sports facility for the island's youth population, and expediting the work on the sewerage system and the school hall development projects. At the meeting, the council and WDC members expressed gratitude for the developmental initiatives in Naivaadhoo and emphasised the importance of expediting some of the ongoing projects. They also highlighted that President Solih was the first president to visit the island in 13 years.

Also at the meeting, President Solih said the Local Government Authority (LGA) oversees the construction of the council offices. He assured the members of the council and WDC that discussions would be held with LGA to include Naivaadhoo on its priority list. He further said that discussions would be held with relevant authorities to address the issues and concerns raised by the members at the meeting.

The administration has carried out four developmental projects in Naivaadhoo thus far. There are three projects that are currently ongoing, including the development of the sewerage system.
