President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed have attended the opening ceremony of the South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) Women's Championship 2022.
The SABA Women's Basketball Championship 2022 will be held from September 25-30 at the Maldives Centre for Social Education (MCSE) in Malé City. Four teams from the South Asian region will be taking part in the competition.
It is the first international women's basketball tournament being held in the Maldives. In the opening match of the tournament, the Maldives team faced Nepal and won by a score of 51-47.
Vice President Faisal Naseem also attended the opening ceremony along with cabinet ministers, sports officials, and supporters.
