MNP begins first national congress

Maldives National Party (MNP) has begun its first national congress.

Members of MNP attended the inauguration ceremony at Thaajuddeen School, during which the President of MNP Mohamed Nazim detailed the party’s vision and its mandate. He also expressed hope that important decisions will be made during the party congress.

A total of 270 congressmen are participating in the MNP national congress. The event is split into three sessions and members are scheduled to be appointed to various positions in the party. The members will also discuss and amend various party policies and regulations and conclude on September 24.

Furthermore, MNP has announced its decision to award its ticket for the 2023 presidential election to the winner of its primary election. MNP President Nazim has said he will be running in the primaries.
