Haa Dhaalu Atoll School expansion to be completed within a year

Ministry of Education has contracted North Contractors Private Limited to complete the unfinished development works of the Haa Dhaalu Atoll Education Centre.

Haa Dhaalu Atoll Education Centre expansion project first commenced in 2019. The contract was awarded to Wee Hour Investment Private Limited to construct a new building consisting of 12 classrooms for a cost of USD517,000. However, the construction of the four-story building was halted due to various reasons. The ministry has now re-contracted the project to North Contractors Private Limited to complete the unfinished works of the project within one year.

More than 1,400 students are enrolled in the school located in Vaikaradhoo, Haa Dhaalu Atoll. The school comprises students from different islands from nearby atolls. Haa Dhaalu Atoll Council notified President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih of the space constraints faced in the school during a meeting in 2019.
