International Coral Festival to be held in Addu

The Maldives Coral Institute (MCI) has decided to hold a Coral Festival in Addu City in March next year. The announcement was made by the Founder of MCI Mohamed Nasheed, who is also the Speaker of the Parliament of the Maldives.

The event scheduled to be held in Addu will be one of the largest festivals on corals to be held in the country. The event will discuss the relationship between debt and the environment. Officials of several foreign banks are also scheduled to participate in the event.

MCI Founder Nasheed has been visiting the islands of Addu and meeting with the residents. He is also carrying out some of the tasks of MCI during his visit. As such he attended a workshop on coral reproduction conducted by MCI at Nooranee School in Hithadhoo, Addu. The students were given information during the workshop on how to protect and revive the coral reefs in the Maldives.
