A delegation from the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has taken part in the 46th Indo-Pacific Armies Management Seminar (IPAMS) held in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Senior military leaders from 26 countries around the Indo-Pacific took part in the conference, which was co-hosted by the Bangladesh Army and the United States Army Pacific ((USARPAC). The MNDF delegation that took part in the seminar held in Dhaka from September 12 to 15, consisted of Brigadier General Ismail Shareef, Lieutenant Colonel Saudhulla Waheed, Major Mohamed Saakhee Abdul Gafoor, Command Sergeant Major Ibrahim Latheef, and Warrant Officer 4 Ibrahim Umar Manik.
The 46th IPAMS had three plenary sessions focusing on robust peacekeeping, women empowerment, land power in regional cooperation, and discussions on the challenges and ways forward. The topic for the conference was Prospects and Challenges in Maintaining Peace and Security in the Indo-Pacific.
IPAMS, the largest conference held amongst army forces in the Indo-Pacific region, provides a forum for the senior military leadership to exchange views and ideas on peace and stability.
