Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and industry partners are showcasing the beauty of Maldivian seascapes, underwater sceneries, and dive adventures at ADEX 2022. The event is being held at Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Singapore, from September 16-18.
ADEX is the biggest and longest-running dive expo in Asia, considered to be one of the industry’s must-attend events. ADEX brings together distinguished VIPs and speakers from across the globe including scientists, marine conservationists, underwater photographers, and videographers. It also provides a platform for various exhibitors such as dive operators, equipment manufacturers, and national tourism boards.
MMPRC stated participation in ADEX 2022 will help boost the visibility of the Maldives and maintain its presence as a premier and preferred dive destination in the Southeast Asian market. It will help to promote the diving segment of the Maldives to a broader audience, consisting of both dive operators and dive enthusiasts. MMPRC said the participation in the event is aligned with the strategy to diversify the promotional efforts to include all segments. A total of 11 participants from six companies are participating in the event alongside MMPRC to promote their dive-related products and services.
Through the event, MMPRC will market the destination, products, and unique experiences, especially those relating to diving and water sports. The state-owned company will also showcase the underwater beauty of the Maldives to travel trade and travellers from the Southeast Asian market.
The Maldives welcomed 18,489 tourists from the South East Asian (SEA) market, from January to July 2022. MMPRC has been holding several activities targeting the market, including joint-marketing campaigns with major stakeholders, outdoor advertising campaigns, participation in fairs, hosting webinars, E-Learning programmes, and other events. It includes Cabvertising Campaign with MyBump Media, participation in Malaysia International Dive Expo (MIDE) 2022, Merchantrade Asia (MATTA) 2022, and Thailand Dive Expo 2022, and hosting a familiarisation trip for Indonesian media. Ongoing activities by MMPRC for the market include Maldives E-Learning Programme for Southeast Asia, and campaigns with TripZilla, Apple Vacations, and DestinAsian. Similar activities are in the pipeline for the market for the remainder of the year as well.
