Parliament of the Maldives has opened applications for the position of serjeant-at-arms.
Interested individuals are required to submit their application by September 28 to the Secretariat of the Parliament along with the identification card copy and other relevant documents. The Parliament will accept applicants over 25 years of age. The salary for the sergeant-at-arms is USD2,000 and it is the second highest position in the Parliament, after the secretary general.
Parliament removed Sergeant-at-arms Mohamed Haleem from the position in late August. He was dismissed after having been suspended for over one and a half years following a case under investigation. He was appointed as the first Sergeant-at-arms on November 19, 2013, and was appointed for a second term on October 3, 2019.
