National Fishermen’s Day to be officially marked in Faresmaathodaa

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has decided the official reception for the 42nd National Fishermen’s Day would be held in Faresmaathodaa, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, this year. The decision was made at a cabinet meeting after deliberating on a paper submitted by the Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture.

Since 1989, December 10 has been celebrated as National Fishermen's Day in the Maldives. In 2021, Fishermen’s Day was celebrated in Gaafaru, Kaafu Atoll, while celebrations are open for the southern atolls this year.

During the cabinet meeting, President Solih also decided the official receptions for the National Farmers' Day and World Food Day would be held in Kaashidhoo, Kaafu Atoll, this year.
