MMPRC conducts high-profile roadshows in US and Canada

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has initiated a series of high-profile roadshows in the United States (US) and Canada.

The series of roadshows are held in an effort to maintain destination momentum in the North American market which is one of the top source markets for the Maldives. The roadshows will be held in Los Angeles, New York, and Toronto on September 12, 14, and 15 respectively.

MMPRC revealed the roadshows are conducted under its strategies to strengthen relations with the US and Canadian travel trade and further aims to familiarise the travel trade with the Maldives and ultimately increase arrival figures from the markets. A total of 11 industry partners from the Maldives tourism industry are taking part in these roadshows. The delegation consists of luxury high-end resorts, tour operators, and industry professionals. MMPRC, along with the industry partners, are fully utilising the event to market and advertise the resorts, hotels, guesthouses, and liveaboards, along with the country’s unique geography and the extraordinary experiences awaiting tourists in the Sunny Side of Life.

Despite the long distance, the US market is one of the top source markets for the Maldives. As of September 7, 2022, the Maldives has welcomed 52,168 tourists from the US, making it the sixth top source market for tourism. On August 12, the Maldives achieved the one millionth tourist arrival mark for the year. The Maldives is targetting a total tourist arrival of 1.6 million for 2022.
