Baa Atoll Council has awarded contracts for the procurement of waste management machinery in four atolls in the province.
Integral Private Limited was awarded the contract to procure the machinery required for waste management. The agreement was signed by the President of the Baa Atoll Council Ahmed Afrah and Managing Director of Integral Mohamed Yassin.
As part of the pilot project, the machinery will be installed in Eydhafushi, Thulhaadhoo, Goidhoo and Dharavandhoo in Baa Atoll. Integral is required to deliver the machinery to the four islands within 120 days. The machinery will be delivered and installed with the company also tasked to provide technical support, the atoll council said.
The Visionary Plan for 2030 of Baa Atoll Council has given top priority to solving the waste problem. The council aims to make Baa Atoll a safe and sustainable waste disposal province by 2030.
