Fenaka Corporation Limited has revealed that over 800 households have applied for the Home Solar programme.
Speaking to PSM News, Managing Director Ahmed Saeed said the Home Solar programme has received praise and that Fenaka aims to install solar panels in 1,000 households by the end of 2022.
Fenaka stated that the home solar programme is a small cost-investment and a permanent solution to electricity bills, which have been continuously increasing. As such, the programme will allow customers to reduce their monthly electricity bill by up to 97%, as a USD130 electricity bill of a household would drop to up to USD4.
Fenaka also stated the home solar systems are green power plants installed on roofs, which have low maintenance costs, and lights and cools with solar energy. A home solar system can also be used for 20-25 years.
The purpose of the programme is to significantly lower the electricity costs for the general public while also contributing to the government's goal of reducing the country's heavy reliance on imported fossil fuels and helping achieve the target of net zero emissions by 2030.
