The National Boating Association of Maldives (NBAM), with the support of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), has participated in Surf Expo 2022, the world’s largest surf sector travel trade exhibition.
Surf Expo 2022 is held from September 8-10 at the Orange County Convention Centre, West Concourse, Orlando, United States (US). NBAM participated in the fair to promote the Maldives among American tourists. The association also aims to promote surfing and diving opportunities in the Maldives and market it as a tourist attraction.
Surf Expo is the largest and longest-running watersports, beach, and resort lifestyle tradeshow in the world. Hosted twice annually in January and September and draws buyers from stores across the US, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and around the world. The show historically features hundreds of apparel and hard goods and a full line-up of special events, education, and awards ceremonies. Surf Expo is a trade-only event.
The first Surf Expo was held in 1976. It is the first time the Maldives is represented at an exclusive surfing segment trade show outside of the country.
