Male City Council installs cameras in Male' South Harbour

Male' City Council (MCC) has installed CCTV cameras in the Male' South Harbour enabling 24/7 surveillance. The project is conducted as part of the second phase of the Wider Male' City CCTV Programme launched by the city council.

Speaking about the initiative, Mayor Mohamed Muizzu stated the first phase of the project included installing cameras in all mosques in Male' and Villimale'. He added the second phase of the project saw the installation of cameras in the south harbour and cameras will be installed in the north harbour in the third phase.

The city council has installed cameras from State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) pump station to Marrybrown restaurant, enabling full surveillance of the southern area of the city.
