Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL) has installed luggage screening machines at four airports in line with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's policy to strengthen aviation security in the Maldives.
The machines installed at four airports operated by RACL under the direct supervision of Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi are equipped with the latest equipment. The new machines were installed in Kulhudhuffushi Airport in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Funadhoo Airport in Shaviyani Atoll, Maavaarulu Airport in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, and Fuvahmulah Airport. The newly installed screening machines are included in the Maldives Aviation Security Screening Technology list compiled by the Directorate of Aviation Security Administration (DASA) of the Ministry of Defence.
The machines installed by RACL at four airports are Rapiscan brand machines and RACL is also the authorised distributor and service provider of the brand in the Maldives. The installation of the screening machines is expected to bring an end to the long-standing inconveniences faced by the airport staff and passengers.
