Dharavandhoo Island Council has praised President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's administration for conducting developmental projects without being biased against small island communities or differing political affiliations. The council members made the remarks during a meeting with President Solih and the representative women's development committee (WDC).
Speaking at the meeting, the council members provided details to President Solih on the developmental work being conducted in Dharavandhoo. They noted the administration equally provides services to all communities without differentiating between islands and political affiliations. Additionally, the council members highlighted the challenges in the various ongoing developmental projects on the island. The concerns include the lack of revetment between the harbour and airport, space constraints in the school, services at the health centre, and the lack of a modern mosque and youth centre on the island. The council members also highlighted the need for a housing project and road development project.
At the meeting, President Solih said he will provide solutions to these issues after discussing them with the relevant ministries. He assured that the work will be included in the 2023 state budget.
