JP to formulate plan for presidential election in December

Jumhooree Party (JP) has decided to hold the party congress in December to formulate a plan for the presidential election to be held next year.

Cheif Spokesperson Ali Solih said the JP is making preparations to hold the party congress, which will see members make decisions on important issues. At the JP congress, members will also elect the party’s council and decide on whether to contest the presidential election as part of a coalition or separately.

A seven-member committee has been formed to establish the island branches in accordance with the party regulations, as part of the preparations for the congress. The opportunity has been provided for supporters to establish the island branches and interested individuals can obtain more information by contacting the party’s registrar or administrative office. JP stated that supporters also have the opportunity to conduct activities to promote the party across the country.
