President appoints High Commissioner to Singapore

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Ahmed Thasmeen Ali as the High Commissioner of the Maldives to Singapore. The president presented the high commissioner with his letter of credence at a ceremony held at the President’s Office.

Former Deputy Speaker of Parliament of the MaldivesThasmeen completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom (UK). He also served as the Minister of Atolls Administration and the Minister of Home Affairs.

Thasmeen is also the former leader of the Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP).
