Ministry of Tourism has opened nominations for the Maldives Tourism Awards 2022. The purpose of the awards is to acknowledge and celebrate the accomplishments made by individuals and companies working in the tourism industry of the Maldives.
The tourism ministry has opened nominations for the awards to be given to the best water sports centre, best dive centre, and best travel agency. When evaluating nominees, the ministry will award points based on the number of Maldivian employees, the amount paid in taxes, global recognitions received, and the number of training opportunities provided. Interested parties are required to submit nominations by September 5.
The ministry has revealed that it will be introducing tourism awards for 12 categories in 2022. A total of 48 awards will be given out to the winners of the 12 categories, as part of the events being held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of tourism in the Maldives.
