Gold coin to be released to mark 50th anniversary of tourism

Ministry of Tourism has decided to release a gold coin to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the tourism industry of the Maldives.

The Government of the Maldives has been conducting various activities throughout the year to celebrate the golden jubilee. As part of the efforts, the tourism ministry is seeking parties interested in making a gold-plated coin. The ministry will respond to any inquiries for further information on the design via email before August 24. The deadline to submit gold coins as instructed is on August 29.

Earlier this year, the tourism ministry and Maldives Post Limited released a new set of stamps to commemorate the 50th anniversary of tourism in the Maldives. The government also introduced and began the use of an official logo for the golden jubilee celebrations this year.
