MMPRC concludes brand awareness campaign with Turkish Airlines

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has concluded a three-month-long campaign with Turkish Airlines, the national flag carrier airline of Turkey.

MMPRC stated the campaign was initiated in February under efforts to position the Maldives as top of a mind destination in the Turkish market, targeting consumers to increase brand awareness and destination presence of the Maldives in the Turkish market.

Under the campaign, a 30-second promo video showcased the scenery, resorts, guesthouses, liveaboards, and hotels in the Maldives and uniquely-Maldivian experiences played before the beginning of each movie available on the in-house flight entertainment systems on all flights of Turkish Airlines. The video highlighted the scattered islands, products and unique experiences awaiting tourists in the Maldives.

With exclusive rights to the video slot, the video was aired across 44,800 flights reaching an estimated 11.2 million views. Besides being the national flag carrier, Turkish Airlines provides significant coverage and visibility for the Maldives brand through its vast international routes, as it is favoured by many passengers from European countries as well as Middle Eastern countries.

Joint campaigns with major airlines are a part of MMPRC’s wider marketing strategy to work with industry stakeholders. Under the global marketing strategy, MMPRC has already conducted various joint promotional campaigns with major airlines such as Qatar Airways, Etihad, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, and Air Asia over the last two years.
