Ministry of Tourism has revealed over 40,000 tourist beds are currently in operation in resorts across the Maldives.
As per the latest tourism update report, 59,407 tourist beds were in operation across 1,180 tourist facilities by August 14. The statistics show that a total of 40,053 beds are in operation across 164 resorts, while 13,807 beds are in operation across 838 guesthouses, and 1,616 beds are in operation across 13 hotels. Another 2,932 beds are in operation across 156 liveaboards and 10 beds are in operation at two homestay facilities.
The statistics also show that one million tourist arrivals have been recorded so far this year, which is an increase of 49% compared to the 680,000 arrivals recorded in the same period last year.
