The Maldives and Russia have discussed further enhancing trade and business collaboration between the two countries. The discussions took place during the farewell call by the Ambassador of Russia to the Maldives Yury B. Materiy on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
At the meeting held at the President’s Office, President Solih commended Ambassador Materiy for his sincere work and dedication to enhancing the bilateral ties between the two countries. He also thanked the Government of Russia for its continuous support and assistance to the Maldives in the bilateral and international forums.
Furthermore, President Solih and Ambassador Materiy recalled the dynamics of the bilateral relations and the growth of collaborations, particularly in the tourism sector. They also shed light on the Visa Waiver Agreement inked by the two nations that strengthened people-to-people ties and tourism collaboration. They concluded the call expressing confidence in building relations further over the coming years.
