X-ray machines sent to four domestic airports

Regional Airports Company Limited has sent X-ray machines to four airports across the Maldives to strengthen check-in systems.

Speaking to PSM News, Managing Director of Regional Airports Mohamed Rizwi said only one X-ray machine is currently used at the airports and it causes serious difficulties if the machines face any issues. He said the lack of backup machines results in services being provided manually. Noting additional luggage X-ray machines have been sent to four airports, he added the machines will be installed and operational before the end of the month.

The X-ray machines have been sent to Kulhudhuffushi Airport in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Funadhoo Airport in Shaviyani Atoll, Maavaarulu Airport in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, and Fuvahmulah Airport.

Regional Airports manage six domestic airports across the Maldives. However, the lack of services at the airports has always been a complaint of the public.
