BroadCom signs with partners of Broadcast Awards

Maldives Broadcasting Commission (BroadCom) has signed with partners of Broadcast Awards 2022. The awards ceremony is scheduled to be held in September.

During the ceremony, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) signed as the Associate Partner, State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) signed as the Official Sponsor, Crowe Maldives signed as the Audit Partner, Housing Development Corporation (HDC) signed as the Hosting Partner and Ooredoo Maldives signed as the Digital Partner. Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM) is the official sponsor of the awards. Additionally, sponsors for separate awards are extended by State Trading Organisation (STO), Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), Maldivian, Al Shaali Marine, MedTech and Fenaka Corporation Limited.

BroadCom said efforts are underway to evaluate the applications. It has received 160 nominations by the deadline. The awards are given by BroadCom in recognition of the role played by the broadcasting industry in promoting and maintaining freedom of expression and democracy in the Maldives, nation building, raising public awareness and enriching information in various fields.

The awards will be presented in three main categories. They are Production Awards, Journalism Awards and Industry Awards. As such, Production Awards include Best Documentary Programme, Best Current Affairs Programme, Best Entertainment Programme, Best Children’s Programme, Best Daytime Programme, Best Religious Awareness Programme, Best Sports Programme, Best Environmental Programme, Best Creative Programme, Social Programme of the Year, and Best Campaign of the Year.

Meanwhile, Journalism Awards include Best News Anchor, Journalist of the Year, Best Programme Presenter, Best Camera Person, and Most Promising Journalist. Industry Awards include Best Broadcasting Channel (TV/Radio), Best Inclusive Broadcaster, and Most Creative Channel.
