Minister of Arts, Culture and Heritage Yumna Maumoon has stated the Savaadheetha Dhathuru yacht rally reflects the hospitality of Maldivians and the memories of earlier times. She made the remarks speaking at the inauguration of the second edition of the Savaadheetha Yacht Rally.
Speaking at the inauguration of the event, Minister Yumna said the Savaadheetha rally showcases the rich history of the people. She said that on the first visit, the tourists saw a lot of local hospitality which shows that the people are fully cooperating with the efforts of the government to bring the direct benefits of tourism to the people.
The opportunity to participate in the Savaadheetha rally has now been opened. Maldives Integrated Tourism Development Corporation (MITDC) said the yacht rally will be held from March 1-18, 2023. The passengers will stop at a total of 11 destinations, including Landhoo in Noonu Atoll, Hinnavaru in Lhaviyani Atoll, Goidhoo in Baa Atoll, Thoddoo, Rasdhoo and Ukulhas in Alifu Alifu Atoll, Dhangethi and Dhigurah in Alifu Dhaalu Atoll as well as two uninhabited islands.
The first edition of the Savaadheetha Dhathuru yacht rally was held from February 5-20, as part of the events held to mark the 50th anniversary of the tourism industry of the Maldives. The event was a collaboration of MITDC, Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage, and the Civil Company of Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
